Dr. David Bloomquist

   Dr. David Bloomquist, P.E. is a Professor Emeritus in the Engineering School of Sustainability Infrastructure and Environment (ESSIE) at the University of Florida. He was a named Spangler Professorship and was appointed by the Provost as the Director of UF’s Teaching Center. As the Director, he participated in and offered numerous short courses, invited lecturers, peer reviews etc. (i.e., activities that served to broaden the inclusion of faculty and students in both educational and research arenas). Dr. Bloomquist also created the University’s Academy of Distinguished Teaching Scholars. He has received numerous teaching and advising awards from the University, College, and Department, was the Chi Epsilon National Teacher of the Year, and is frequently invited to serve as a review panelist at NSF. In 2010, he was made a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineer (ASCE).
