Compatible Combinations
ABS and ABS: With good strength and temperature properties ABS can be used with ABS when more than one color in the same print is desired or when two different brands of filament is required in emergencies.
PLA and PLA: PLA is a great material for large prints as it does not have a very high shrink rate, PLA can produce parts with very smooth surface finishes, PLA + PLA is used when more than one color in the same print is desired or two different brands of filament is required in emergencies.
Incompatible Combinations
ABS and PVA: PVA is a water soluble material with a very low printing temperature, the low print temperature makes this material incompatible with ABS, as well as other materials, because the ABS material would melt through the PVA when printed.
Nylon and CPE, CPE+, PC and PP: The self lubricating and chemical resistance properties make nylon a very difficult material to print as a dual material combination.
PC and all other materials: The extrusion temperature of PC is much higher than all other materials. This temperature variation prevents PC from being able to print with other materials.
